I know you have noticed how every release is now divided in 4GB parts.There are some reasons behind
The first and most important one, is trying to keep the blog alive by selling premium accounts, which was very, very low at the end of last year at the point of having only 2 sales during november even after adding all servers together.
The second reason is time, it was common to find sometimes routes from ISP or the servers that left me with 10 concurrent uploads at 200KBps and still having a queue of over 200 chunks which i had left for the night. Now with bigger chunks, it has become pretty uncommon, since the uploads takes longer, the frequency on which the ISP or the server gives me a slow route is lower and it can affect only 1 or 2 while the rest advances normally.
A third reason, consequence of the previous one, i realize i can now easily put 6 (or 8 if i wanted) posts each day giving me more time for myself than when chunks were smaller with 3-5 posts a day.
And lastly, by being able to upload more, ratio of filling/emptying the HDD has become almost 1:1.
The firsts tests were done during january and after noticing advantages in time, i made a pool in telegram, which resulted in most people wanting bigger chunk sizes and less pieces, so i decided to continue.
Currently, this decision is still under evaluation for some other months.
